Slim and light, the versatile HP Envy x360 15-ew0072nf 2-in-1 notebook converts to a tablet with its 15-inch Full HD 360-degree touchscreen and performs well in everyday use and multimedia content with 16GB of RAM and an Intel Core i5-1240P Alder Lake processor with Iris Xe graphics that can run modest games. Equipped with a fast 512GB SSD storage that enhances its responsiveness, this Windows 11 hybrid Ultrabook with a sleek silver aluminum design benefits from an Infrared webcam shutter for facial recognition, a backlit keyboard but also a connectivity including Thunderbolt 4 USB-C and Wi-Fi ax.
This versatile 2-in-1 Ultrabook is equipped with good connectivity with its 2 USB 4 Type-C Thunderbolt 4, its Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E ax modules (more recent and efficient than Wi-Fi ac) to communicate and connect wirelessly, its practical HDMI video output to easily connect it to a monitor or a TV for example, its audio port without forgetting its 2 USB 3. 0 (USB 2.0 compatible) guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 peripherals are plugged in.
Performance, autonomy of the HP Envy x360 15-ew0072nf
The HP Envy x360 15-ew0072nf is a thin and light 15-inch hybrid laptop designed for everyday multipurpose use.
Good overall performance even under multi-core and RAM-intensive multimedia work, such as photo editing or video encoding, is delivered by this 2-in-1 laptop. It is built around an Intel Alder Lake Core i5-1240P processor with 12 hybrid cores, a low-power model with a TDP of 28W as opposed to the usual 15W, which means better performance but greater energy consumption impacting autonomy.
The Core i5 Alder Lake-P is coupled here with 16GB of appreciable RAM but also with a fast SSD storage that is more energy efficient than a hard disk but also more robust, silent and much faster.
The SSD actually provides much better responsiveness and fluidity in everyday use than a simple hard drive. Thanks to the SSD, startup and shutdown are much faster, as well as processing and launching software, and you can get to the online game maps faster.
While no dedicated graphics card is on board, you can indeed watch photos and videos but also play modest titles. And this is thanks to the Intel Iris Xe graphics solution directly housed in the Core i5.
Of course, if the 512GB SSD – a capacity similar to the standard hard drives – is not enough, you can use an external storage unit such as a USB-C/USB 3.0/Thunderbolt device to benefit from fast transfers.
As for the autonomy of this versatile hybrid 2-in-1 Ultrabook, whose slimness and contained weight make it easy to carry, expect to see about 6 hours of battery operation in light use while waiting for more concrete tests.

The HP Envy x360 15-ew0072nf versus the competition
The HP Envy x360 15-ew0072nf is currently on special offer at E.Leclerc and is positioned as one of the most powerful in its category in terms of processor and one of the only ones to offer a touch screen convertible into a tablet.
Chassis, connectivity, screen of the HP Envy x360 15-ew0072nf
This versatile hybrid notebook can be opened 360° to convert into a tablet and has a discreet, elegant and original appearance thanks to its thin natural silver and light aluminum design.
The screen is equipped with multi-touch technology, so that by simply applying at least one finger on it and pressing/gesturing, you can interact with the system and software.
Because of its tactile aspect, the screen is brilliant which revives the colors but induces a sensitivity to the reflections in luminous environment (ex: outside).

The screen is also very well suited to displaying videos and more generally High Definition content because of its 16/9 format and its Full HD definition. Its colorimetry is however standard, inferior to that of high-end IPS or OLED panels.
The webcam is equipped with Infrared technology allowing biometric authentication by facial recognition.
We appreciate that a shutter is provided to preserve privacy when not using the webcam.
The chiclet keyboard can be backlit, which is useful for better distinguishing its keys in reduced ambient light.
However, we note the absence of a numeric keypad, which is a pity because this feature is standard from 15 inches to facilitate the entry of numbers.
