This compact Ultrabook with a 14-inch IPS Full HD anti-glare display whose responsiveness is enhanced by the fast 512GB SSD storage is efficient in everyday use and modest gaming thanks to its 16GB of RAM and its Intel Core i7 Tiger Lake processor with Iris Xe graphics module.
Acer Aspire 5 A514-54-7928 Performance, battery life
The Acer Aspire 5 A514-54-7928 is a compact, lightweight High Definition laptop for everyday mobile use.
Thanks to its good amount of 16 GB RAM and its low-power Intel Quad Core i7-1165G7 Tiger Lake processor, it delivers good overall performance to satisfy many users.
This core is even suitable for light multimedia work that uses RAM and multicore, such as photo editing or video encoding.
On the other hand, for more demanding processing in terms of processor and/or graphics resources, it is better to opt for a PC based on a non-low-power processor and/or an appropriate dedicated graphics card.
There is no dedicated GPU on board here, as all the graphics are entrusted to the Iris Xe (which we tested). Thanks to this graphic solution taking place directly in the Core i7, we can watch photos and videos of course but also play modest games.
On the storage side, we find an SSD which clearly reinforces the reactivity and fluidity in use compared to a simple hard disk. Thanks to the SSD, starts/stops, treatments and launching of applications are much faster, and we reach faster the maps of online games.
It must be said that an SSD is much faster than a hard disk. Other advantages include lower energy consumption, silent operation and greater robustness.
With its 512 GB, the SSD offers a capacity in line with the standard of hard drives. But if you need more space, you can always use an external storage device such as a USB-C/USB 3.0 device for fast transfers.
As for battery life, count on about 8 hours of battery operation in light use for this versatile two-tone Ultrabook whose lightness, compactness and thinness make it easy to carry.

The integrated biometric reader allows authentication by fingerprint recognition via Windows Hello technology.
A backlighting system equips the chiclet keyboard, which is practical for better discerning its keys in case of limited ambient light.
Thanks to its IPS technology, the screen has large viewing angles, both horizontally and vertically. In addition, it lends itself very well to the display of videos and more broadly of High Definition content through its 16:9 format and its Full HD definition. Thanks to its anti-reflection treatment, the screen is also more readable in bright environments (eg: outdoor) than a glossy slab.
